The City of Karlovac hosted representatives of the European Guild of Historic Marksmen (EGS) as part of the preparations for the 22nd European Marksmen’s Fair. On the occasion of the visit, a ceremonial reception was held for the EGS delegation, led by the President of the Guild, Prince Albert-Henri of Merode. Alongside the President, 17 members of the Presidency from Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and Poland attended the reception. The visit formed part of organisational activities and coordination ahead of the major international event that will take place in Karlovac from 20 to 22 August 2027. ➧ RETURN TO NEWS

Balve (Germany) – At the autumn assembly of the European Guild of Historic Marksmen (EGS) in Balve, a presentation of the city of Karlovac and preparations for the European Marksmen’s Fair 2027 was held. The event will take place in Karlovac from 20 to 22 August 2027. The organiser conducted the assembly as part of the EGS Herbsttagung programme, with main activities on 22 and 23 August 2025, and an initial gathering and programme segment already on 21 August. The programme also included a ceremonial segment marking the 70th anniversary of EGS. The Karlovac presentation focused on key organisational steps and the overall event framework, with the aim of informing EGS members and representatives of historic units about the preparations, as well as the logistical and programme elements of hosting the Fair. The announcement and presentation in Balve represent a continuation of international coordination ahead of the major European gathering that Karlovac will host in 2027. The European Guild of Historic Marksmen (EGS) held its spring plenary session in Udenhout (Netherlands), where members of the Guild discussed current organisational topics and confirmed guidelines for the preparation of upcoming international activities.
